After spending all day yesterday going from temp agency to temp agency and feeling like my own personal 'dog & pony show', I took today to 're-fuel'. I have pretty high expectations of myself and realized that I was getting totally bummed that I hadn't found the perfect job, gotten hired and already started in less than a week.
Yep, time to step back. So, remember my list of things that make me happy? I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE used book stores. I love the smell of them, how all the books look sitting on the shelves, the people sitting around drinking tea, coffee (or in my case, a smoothie) and perusing possible book options. I love picking books off the shelves and feeling how heavy or light they are, looking through them for 'treasures' (you know those little pieces of paper that people leave in books when they sell them to a used books store...bookmarks, receipts, grocery lists, etc.) and I LOVE finding a new good book (both for me and for Janan).
Tucson has these AMAZING used book stores called Bookman's. Shelves and shelves of used books, CDs, DVDs, CD-Roms, and so much more. Not to mention free Wi-Fi! So, that's where I headed today. If you were looking for me, I was at the Bookman's on Ina.
I do admit I sort of combined my job hunt with my trip to Bookman's. One of the owner's of the first temp agency I met with yesterday told me about a book that has a listing of all the Tucson businesses with contact info, addresses, e-mails, etc. I found it online, but it was over $70!
Didn't find that book, but spent the afternoon drinking my Robek's smoothie, surfing the internet for the names of some books I've been wanting and then checking the shelves to see if Bookman's had them. When I didn't find anything specifically from my 'want' list, I just enjoyed searching through the shelves. I found two good ones for Janan and a (hopefully) good one for me!
I'm off to read...let you know what I think!
